I believe it’s a novelty hand crank flashlight still working and comes with the box and instructions branded Monarch MFG CO. And the plastic known as Bakelite which was commonly used in the 1940s after brass was restricted for strategic use during WW2.

Exploring one of the largest antique collectors properties I’ve crossed in my life this older gentleman in his mid 90s gave me free access to all of his antiques and what to me looked like one of the largest hoards of all time. Most items ranging from 1908-1978 spanned in hundreds of sheds and storage containers on a 16 acre property. Many cool items to say the least but this flashlight he had no information about so I said what anyone who has in interest in old technologies would say “how much do you want for it” and he said “take it I can’t bring it with me” it’s dusty and looks like it needs to be wiped off but the handle connecting to the flywheel inside still has grease on it and the light still works. Pretty amazing in my opinion

I believe Tysytube restored something similar except the body was metal. Pretty neat.
