Swapped some aluminum flytanium scales on my mini grip. 3/3 body screws were overtightened beyond loosening with heat and the proper torx bit, so I restored to the old brrrr.

Scales turned out great, but why the heck are these t6 screws always super overtightened on benchmades?!

Because if they were loose, the title of your post would be “Why so loose, Benchmade?”

Yea it’s stupid, my 940 has a stripped body screw coz of this

I know exactly why they over tighten, I’ve had the body screws on my Bugout fall out multiple times lol. One day, maybe they’ll make the innovative decision to go to full t8s, but for now, it seems they’re content with just hoping people never disassemble their knives.

Benchmades are some of the hardest knives to tear down. Took me ages to get my bailout back together the first time.

Yeah i had one 940, never again. Cheapest shittiest t6 screws ever. Stripped one out. Had to drill it out to seap scales. Sold that 940 and stuck to spyderco lol.

Are you sure they were overtightened? I believe my 940 came with the screws loctite from factory. They had blue loctite on the threads when I disassembled If I remember correctly.
