Looking to replace my Vosteed Bellamy and thinking of getting either a Spyderco Para3 CruWear or Benchmade Osborne Denim Micarta. What do you guys think? Also open to other options w/Micarta handles.
I love my Vosteed Psyop in micarta; of the two you listed the Para 3 would be my choice b/c compression lock.

I like the Bellamy the best of these, but 940 is a solid knife. Easy to recommend. I wanted a mini pm2 for ages but I just can’t get into the pm3. The contours don’t work for my medium large hands and it looks funny that the kept all the height from the larger knife.
I have the Para3 crucarta and it’s just a great knife overall.

I have the bench made you’re looking at and it’s a very classy knife

Get the para 3 before spyderco jacks their prices to where benchmade’s are.

Both are iconic. Para3 is more versatile and probably much less expensive. The Osborne is a tank and looks faaabulooouuuus.
A few other great choices in Micarta: * Vosteed Psyop * Spyderco Military, PM2, Manix 2/XL (all in Crucarta) * Spyderco SpyOpera * TRM Neutron * Chaves Blue Label Redencion 229 * Chaves Blue Label Scapegoat 229 * Chaves Blue Label Sangre 229 * TRM Atom * BergBlades Alpha * Bergblades Mini Sweeney * Giantmouse REO * Giantmouse Biblio XL * Bestech Cetus * Bestech Syn * Reate Exo-M (gravity) * Zero Tolerance Hinderer 0562MC * Vero/Protech Synapse (ots) * Pena Mula * Vero Axon * Benchmade Crooked River
Just go with what you really want/ like.

The Benchmade is a neat knife in a lot of ways, but it’s so damn thick behind the edge, it doesn’t cut for shit. Probably better off with the Para 3. But my personal suggestion is a Spyderco Kapara instead. It’s a very similar form factor to the 940, but without the omega spring (potential) issue, a much better cutting geometry, and FAR superior ergos. And you get far more actual cutting edge than the Para 3, like you’d get on the 940. Your options for styles are are admittedly limited, but I think it’s a FAR superior knife overall than both of these. And you can always get aftermarket scales.

Para3 all day! Personally, my paramilitary 2’s see a lot more action than my para3 due to its smaller size in my hands, but a great knife regardless!
