I was at a restaurant the other day, I went into their restroom and when I went in the light wasn't working (it seemed like there was a sensor problem), but I took out my Olight i5T from my pocket and was able to stick it between two pipes and light up the entire restroom. I was proud of the fact that I carry a flashlight with me wherever I go, even though it's daytime.

I always have a flashlight in my pocket.
I have an o-light on my key ring. It’s bright enough for long enough for the kind of situation you describe. It’s mostly been used for finding the keyhole when we forget to leave the carport light on when we go out.
Sun doesn’t shine everywhere. :p
I needed a light to search in the back of a kitchen cabinet yesterday. 🤷 Daytime is only relevant where the sun reaches. 😛

I always have a light on me, it might only be a key chain light but it will be there.
24/7 around the neck and another in my pocket… all day every day.
I pretty much always have a flashlight with me. Living in the pacific northwest it gets dark during daytime hours.

It’s referred to as an EDC, every day carry, for good reason.
You never have to worry about a flashlight when you don’t have a reason to use it. But it’s there, ready and capable, when you need it.
Of course, ever heard of an eclipse?
