Depends if m cutting wires or clothes of an injured person.

Electrician scissors, they will cut almost anything. Most trauma shears are disposable junk.

Might be a dumb question, but what makes electrician’s scissors so special?

I carry electricians shears in my vehicle. Guarantee they’ll cut anything those trauma shears would. The shears are designed to cut clothes off a victim with as little damage to them as possible. They’re a spacial purpose tool. My shears are ck tool and they’re handy as fuck. The raptors are pure drip but they’re like $90. The ck ones I’ve got were like $20. I’d pick the ck ones all day long.

One option is ~$100 and eats an entire pocket unless you wear a holster, which looks a bit much if you’re not an EMT, or carry them separately. The other is ~$30 and still gets you a perfectly solid pair of scissors.
Carry what makes you happy, but those shears are a bigger commitment than most people realize.

Ive got the X-Shears mini in my carry pouch in my backpack. I have them in there over electricians scissors just because of space concerns. The electricians scissors probably have better utility. They X-Shears have no problem easily going through a multi layer leather gun belt. If I need to cut a thick wire or something I also carry the Knipex Cobolt mini bolt cutters. And electricians shears can’t even come close to the cutting power of those when cutting a small bolt or pin.

If the purpose is for medical/cutting clothing, you do not ever want scissors or shears with pointed ends. You risk causing more injury to the patient in a high stress situation by way of piercing skin.
General purpose, electrician shears.

Trauma sheers. No question.

As an owner of raptors, they are worth it… but I’m sure the $30 reps are just as good. At least with how many other brands are just up charging lol
