Over the last 12 years I've gone through a fair few that I've carried every day! Curious to know how things have changed for other folk around here:
2014 – 2017 – LED Lenser | 3x AAA Battery. Bought for me as a gift. 'Genesis'.
2017 – 2018 – Atactical A1S – XP-L V6 | My first experience of 1000 Lumens
2018 – 2019 – Emisar D4 – Nichia 219CT 90CRI, 5000K | Best tint I own
2019 – Onward – Emisar D18 – SST20 5000K | 14000 Lumens < coke can size. Perfect dog walk light
2019 – 2019 – Emisar D4V2 – XP-L HI V3 3A, 5000K | Bright, but not a huge fan of the tint.
2019 – 2021 – Emisar D4V2 – SST20 4000K 95CRI | Bright, great CRI, lovely tint for me, great size.
2021 – 2021 – Acebeam H17 – NICHIA 219C CRI ≥90 5000K | Great tint, but the runtime didn't justify the size reduction from the D4V2.
2021 – 2026 – Emisar DT8 – W2 w/9A + FET | Peak Hank. Unfathomably bright on start-up turbo for an 18650, and incredibly low moonlight. It's travelled the world with me and never missed a beat. It has been my 'go to' for a huge amount of adventures. Phenomenal.
2026 – Onward – RovyVon E60 + RovyVon E80 – One for the house. One for going out. Having reached the end of 2025 needing: A high-CRI white light, 600lm sustained on walking, and red light. This has fit the bill perfectly perfectly, but! It's been less than a week of carry so we'll see how it goes!
Honourable mention:
BLF LT1 – Fantastic lantern for what I need it for. Joins me on every big camping trip. Never had a need to buy another lantern!

Last 20 years, bought and tried a bit of everything. Keep coming back to the HDS Clicky and Malkoff.
My collection now, is majority USA made.
In the beginning I was chasing output. Each light had to have more lumens than the last. These days what I care about is light quality and run time. If it ain’t 4000k and high CRI I ain’t interested.
