My father in law got my wife and I these copper scale Benchmades for Christmas. They are hand engraved by The Gun Engraver out of Springfield, MO. Great as they were but the new penny gleam was a little too shiny for either of us. So, I did a forced patina.

Are you planning on protecting the patina how it is or just gonna see how it changes?

Also that type of oxidation is cool. TIL copper tends to oxidize green in the presence of sulfur and oxidize blue in the presence of ammonia. You could add splotches of different shades of green and blue with different chemistry.
