(Pictures are from the Katsu webiste)

So today I found out about this absolute unit of a Katsu (ZK-T2 in the forst pic) only to realize it was released a few months ago and long sold out but the second one (ZK-T4 in the second pic) is still available and I'm now wondering if I should just buy that one as I do like that one as well but I feel like I'm gonna grab it and then just feel like I'm "settling" for that one because I wanted to satisfy an itch that I can't.

The ZK-T2 is a copper san-mai ZDP-189 with a convex grind and partial mirror polish while the ZK-T4 is a full mirror polish san-mai ZDP-189 and they both look STUNNING!

Have any of you guys ever bought a close variation to a knife you really wanted and how was your experience? Did it do it for you or grow on you overtime or did it ultimately feel like a consolation prize with a tinge of regret?
