After carrying the 940 for a year I can confidently say it is a phenomenal daily driver. Action is great CPM M4 stays sharp forever but does get some corrosion. It disappears in the pocket, it’s not too heavy. Most importantly the blade is tough as hell and I’m not in fear of turning it into a pry bar. (Build cost $270)

Enter the Manix 2

Holy crap is this thing an over all better knife. Fit and finish is leagues above the 940. Drop shut action out of the box zero blade play. With AWT scales it puts it into an even higher category. It’s more ergonomically comfortable, the centering is perfect, blade came sharper than the 940, and way more slicy (duh). But the obvious draw back is the delicate nature of how the leaf shape blade is ground. I’m afraid to use it hard and I think rightfully so. (Build cost $280)

I wouldn’t be able to pick if I had to choose one over the other. 940 for work and Manix for everything else.

I have used the Manix 2 LW as a work/beater knife for a few years now and it has held up very well. I would take the Manix 2 all day long but it is somewhat big in the pocket. The 940 is a great daily driver and disappears.
