I have a Sorfin light that has side lighting and I’ve never used the colored lights option. I do use the white lights to light a larger workspace

Can put on top of a disabled car to improve visibility to other passing motorists. Helping people find you in a crowd. Also, looks cool.

Redlight for not waking people up

I have one on the Loopgear SK05 Pro. It’s okay. The white light is nice enough but doesn’t really replace a good moonlight setting on the main emitter. My main uses are the pure red and a very dim white. The red is good to read at night without waking my partner and to see during astrophotography sessions without losing my night vision. The dim white is good to use as a night light (the light laying down with the side light pointed at the ceiling).
I use none of the other features such as rainbow mode or anything that moves.
The side light is most useful as a battery indicator. Anything else could just as well be served by a moonlight mode imo. I don’t see it as a big negative but it’s not something I’d be looking for in my next light either.
