I'm a longtime lurker and big fan of all the cool content everyone posts in this community. I've carried a flashlight and pocket knife since high school and have always received questioning looks, but I always just tell them I love being prepared.

Fast forward to last night when we had a big freezing rain storm roll through the area last night. By 4:30PM, our power was out and light was fading fast (Canadian winters, eh?). My wife started to worry about what the night might entail, especially with our little 2 year old toddler running around the house. It sounds corny as heck, but I felt like a superhero being able to light up our living room with my Olight Warrior 3S and Warrior X4 for the next 3 hours. It meant my wife and I could read stories and play games with my son, plus have an impromptu cheese & crackers party. He had a blast running back and forth between the dark foyer and bright livingroom.

After we put him to bed, my wife laughed and said that she can understand why I wanted another flashlight for my birthday gift this year. It's definitely going to be a core memory of mine!

Awesome. Might want to invest in some cheap LED lanterns tho. They’re a life saver during extended power outages. I have a couple that are USB chargeable, a couple that use standard batteries and a couple that are solar charging.
