A friend got me a new Cold Steel SRK for Christmas. I have a tradition of accidentally cutting a finger every year on Christmas to the point my family jokingly doesn’t let me use knives on Xmas day. No one thought to check on me the day after, now I’m at the VA ER waiting to get a stitch or two.

If it’s happening this frequently maybe you shouldn’t be handling knives recreationally.

Is it really your knife till it cuts you though. It’s like a union.

If it’s just a stitch or 2, super glue and a bandaid.

My family has a tradition of giving coins whenever a knife is given.  It prevents you from getting cut by that knife.  It has been a thing for generations, and we give each other lots of knives…

Have you tried holding it by the handle?

Did the same thing with my SRK, a Carbon V from US Cavalry back in the day. Enjoy it in good health!

Cuts happen. For me most often on random shit the last guy left in the wall just out of sight.

I have the exact same tradition lol. Last year I was away from home for Christmas so I had to drive to a random urgent care with a nasty gash in my hand. This year twas but a small scratch on the knuckle luckily

Curious to know, how did it actually happen?
