Hello everyone!

Here's a little question for the Malkoff AA sold on Kosen .

I'm hesitating with this one: https://www.amazon.fr/Energizer-Ultimate-Lithium-Pack-Piles/dp/B00CYS58KI?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A3BXQQUCCDWHSK

It's protected and I heard we shouldn't use protected batteries on flashlights, do you agree? I also bought rechargeable NIMH AA.

Thanks!

Those look fine, very good actually. I don’t see any mention of being protected, which I think would be unusual for a disposable battery. I also see that they are unavailable at this time from the link you provided. These would be my choice for this flashlight though. Edited to finish a sentence. I also think that NiMh are always good for these types of lights and often perform quite well.

The Energize Ultimate Lithium are, as far as I know, the only AA lithium iron disulfide batteries on the market today. They’re fine if that’s what you want. They’re higher performance batteries, expensive, non-rechargeable, known for their extraordinarily long calendar life (20 years) making them suitable for standby/emergency applications.

If you’re using the light regularly, yes, you’re probably better served by NiMH rechargeable cells. That’s what I use in my AA lights.
