Right now all I have is the triangular work sharp sharpening system and I’ve only ever made edges worse. What kind of stone do I need to restore the edge on this one and my other knives (mostly S30V and S45V).

As you can tell, I don’t know much about knives. Is there anything that can do it all at a reasonable price?

thank you!

  1. How in the fuck did you send it through the wash with the blade open?

The stone is fine, just practice on cheap knives first. Go to r/sharpening they’ll be happy to tell you everything you are doing wrong.

Well it’s super hard to judge by the picture because it’s Bryan Cranston backing the edge, but if there are no chips in the edge, you just need to put it on a fine diamond or whetstone and strop with compound.

If you’re nervous about messing up the blade and you haven’t done this before I would recommend trying on cheaper knives first to figure out what works.
