I recently got my first Demkos.
I got a 20 V carbon fiber and Aus10A Grivory.
I wanted a nicer one and a cheaper beater knife, so I got two. I figured the mechanisms would be similar, and they basically are, but the difference in the smoothness and the action is insane.
I’m still getting a feel for both, but while the 20V carbon is smooth and easy to flip open/ closed, the Aus10A mechanism feels rough and unpolished. There’s obviously something to say here about “you get what you pay for”, but the Aus10A isn’t exactly a budget blade, and I’ve had less expensive knives that performed better out of the box.
I’m really happy with the 20V carbon, but I may end up returning or gifting the other one.
