Part of the reason why I don't buy super high end stuff is all my knives make it into rotation. But if I did buy a high end knife, it would still be used. Probably like in this pic.

Tbh I would put 440 over d2 for actual everyday use.
I run a d2 rn so no hate but stuff like what your cutting dulls knives fast and a softer steel in practice will hold an edge for about as long as d2 while also being easier to sharpen.
