Hey there folks.
How hard do you think it would be to turn this headlight housing into a host for high output LED? The light is an antique/vintage Schwinn headlight with a toggle switch on the bottom and external battery. The innards of the shell are pretty bare minimal including a flimsy bracket to hold the bulb and some wires running to the switch.
There are plenty of "retro" LED bullet headlights out there but nothing of quality. I would love to have this one converted. Even if it means running it as a mule with an external battery.

you have 2 different problems here: first of all, fitting a LED, driver and a decent heat sink (as you want to make it bright), second, you need to make the light usable, just bright doesnt really help you, you need to concentrate the light on the road and not blind any trafic.
The first is pretty doable, the second is a far bigger challenge.
