I tried doing wall beamshots but I don't think they show up correctly.
It's very hard to pick up on camera what they are irl. I don't have the equipments or the knowledge either so I'm only giving you guys the size comparison. Compared to some of my, and the more popular edc choices. If you didn't know already, the edc09 only has a battery size of 1100mah.
The fc11c is my 2nd NLD. Grabbed it for the blue. I have the original fc11 in black so I know I'll use that thing. It's easy to edc, and it just works.
Pic 3 is the size and width compared to lights more than 3x the battery size.
Pic 5, 6, 7 are the mlc 4500k, 3000k, 6500k. (Wb5000 iso400)
Pic 4 is how I hold the light. I also have an edc17 but a friend took/lend it. No photos for comparisons sake so I'll just say it – the edc17 is MUCH nicer to hold.
The switches placement as shown in pic 3, is right in the middle. Where on edc17 is towards the head so it sits comfortably in your palm to easily grip. Imo it's a missed opportunity not making it slightly longer for a better battery capacity. A 1100mah puts this edc09 in the same arena as other 14500 lights. And ofc, no removable batteries here.
If Nitecore sticks with their model naming, an edc x9 is already the biggest size of the series.
The swivel head is nice and cute. But when you think about it, it's the same as having side emitters, that will definitely give better heat dissipation..
It is quickly noticable how soon the edc09 overheats on high. Especially when I flavor the warmer 3000k. But as much as I like warmer tints, my initial thoughts? I prefer the edc17 more.
