I’m a huge CruCarta and Zero Tolerance fan so I was pretty stoked about this since its release, but just couldn’t swing the price. DLT had a great deal on these and the 0044 so I pulled the trigger.
I’m definitely glad I did and extremely impressed. I was a little apprehensive about it being an auto, but this is quite well done and I’ve come to really appreciate it.
Fit and finish is sensational. Rock solid lock up, beautiful cerakote finish on the pocket side and grippy micarta on the show side. Nice deep carry pocket clip too. Love the clip point, it’s like a pocket Bowie.
Only thing I don’t love about the 0512, is the same thing that bugs me about a lot of ZT’s, the edge geometry. The blade is razor sharp out of the box, but the edge angles are too wide. It makes it less efficient at slicing and carving. They’re easy enough to sharpen down a few dps like a Spydie, but it’s a pain. That said, solid 9/10 so far.
Looking forward to griming up that micarta and marring that cerakote blade finish.
