So, I have a cjrb Bowie pyrite in s90v steel, accidently gave it some nasty scratches while sharpening it on a pocket rod while at work, and I dont know how or if I can fix these, or if polishing will just mar the finish further. Also, the only equipment i currently have availible is a dremel rotary tool. Any advice or instruction on how to fix or reduce the scratches from ppl with experience would be a greatly appreciated!!

  1. That’s going to be a lot of polishing work!

Buy a $10 micro sanding kit on Amazon and scrub away (vertically) through the grit progressions until you get your desired finish or your arm falls off, whatever comes sooner.

Some people will say to go opposite direction after every grit, but unless you are going for a near polish finish it really won’t matter.

It will not look like the original stonewash, but it won’t look bad either

Here is a pic of one I am messing around with now
