I was helping a friend and I found a S&W HRT boot knife. Its a really nice size and fits well in my hand but in looking up more about it its apparently a trash knife. The sheath is trash anyways.
Are there any other of these kind of boot knifes out there that are about this size that arent trash and dont cost like $300? Id prefer if it had a sheath that had attachment points on it for lacing so I can tie it to things like this.

cold steel counter tac 1 or 2. keep in mind, this design is kind of triangular shaped in cross section…aka not ground on the back. functional, but some people don’t like how it looks.

Boot knives are a little mall-ninja to begin with, so it’s no surprise that you gotta go to the mall-ninja experts, Cold Steel, to get the best ones. The [Counter TAC models](https://www.knifecenter.com/series/cold-steel-knives/cold-steel-counter-tac) seem to be exactly what you’re asking for, a better quality version of the S&W boot knife for not too much money at all.
The larger one is probably closer in size to the S&W boot knife, but for what it’s worth, zacinthewild just posted a video a couple of days ago where he claims he’s tried every single boot knife option on the market and he thinks the smaller one, the Counter TAC II [is the best of the bunch, with the best-working sheath.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJKUieE9EIQ&t=370s)
