Somebody local to me is selling this knife for $50 CAD. Says its a tanto but this is the only picture and no other info is given. I asked for a pic of the blade.
I have done some googling but can't find much info on this specific model? I dont know much about benchmades, would this be a decent buy?

Holy shit that’s a WARN. Those are pretty uncommon, and were the high-end barrage before Benchmade started offering different barrage models. They’re all D2 tantos as far as I know. I keep an eye out every once in a while for one on eBay but they’re usually pretty expensive.
Buy it.
