Hi there! I have got an 21700 battery which is around a year old which has drained to 0.25 Volts when measured with a voltage meter. When placed in the XTAR VC8 Plus charger nothing happens. I am sure it makes contact.
Does anyone here know how I can revive/recover this battery? I thought the charger had an option to recover dead batteries but I can’t find out how it works with the user manual. Can someone please help me out?
Would be awesome if I can restore this battery and use it again! 🔋⚡

I’d suggest just replacing it. Once it’s discharged that far, charging becomes risky.
I have both a VC8 Plus and a VC8S. These two chargers are pretty much the same. I think that battery is beyond hope. But you should have gotten an error message from the charger.
With a reading of .25V, I’m guessing the charger could not even tell there was a battery in that slot.
This is from the VC8S owner Manual.

I don’t believe the charger has a dedicated mode to fix dead cells. Regardless I say this with much caution…..to fix the cell you have to force voltage into it, and then put it back into the charger to see if it’ll start to charge normally.
As others suggested though I would say take the leap and get new cells. Some molicel P45B’s would be a lot better than that.
