I know reviewers don’t use lab grade equipment, LED lottery, yadda yadda, but when looking at a few reviews of this light I was really struck by how completely different the numbers and graphs are.
For instance if you look at this graph:
https://old.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/18l7695/wurkkos_td01c_vs_td01_graph/
You’d think that both of these lights turbo for the same time. But in the 1Lumen review the TD01 barely makes it to the 2min mark before stepping down while the TD01C turbos for a little over 3min:
In the ZeroAir review the TD01 seems to step down right after the 1min mark:
That seems like a lot of variation.
Also notice how the 1Lumen review says the TD01 has significantly higher turbo lumen like you’d expect from a FET vs buck comparison, but the TD01C has higher candela in the review. 1504lm vs 1218lm but 193,419cd vs 218,875cd. How does that make any sense? This is the same LED, same optic, same everything just one is driven hundreds of lumen higher, how can that result in LESS candela? ZeroAir claims 266,882cd & 1279lm for the TD01, that’s yet again two very different numbers.
Darren Yeo’s review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mmf3d-Hu8yk) claims a turbo runtime before stepdown of ~1.5min (TD01) ~3min (TD01C) and 309kcd (see his TD01 review) and 236kcd respectively.
Tactical Grizzly claims 1520lm & 300kcd for the TD01 in his review (https://tgreviews.com/2023/08/05/wurkkos-td01/).
In the video review from PTD (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbrh2sXZ92w) the TD01 is 1598lm / 255kcd vs TD01C 1302lm / 221kcd.
Flashaholic measures 1935lm / 373kcd in his video review (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzYmUGBoX9g).
193-373kcd for the TD01 seems like quite the range!
Watch Flashlight Enthusiast (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkSZjAcL_vo) for some more numbers.
I often see reviews disagreeing, but this just struck me as pretty stark. I wonder what makes the numbers for this light fluctuate this much between reviews? Could it be that there were firmware or LED/optic changes between the review / production units, and what’s that about TIR lights being hard to measure lumens for?

Could be many things. Room temp and ventilation may be different, calibration of enthusiast tools having higher differences vs what manufacturers use, battery age, etc.
I’ve measured my TD01C 3000K twice (stock battery, fully charged) with OPPLE4 and at 10m distance and I’ve got the following results: Turbo/High:
– 143,100cd/890,000cd (ambient temp ~19C)
– 132,600cd/909,000cd (ambient temp ~14C)
