As a guide in the Fluweelengrot, one of the limestone quarries in Valkenburg (The Netherlands), I use a different range of (flash)lights.
I carry a Favour L0944 lantern to provide a general flood of light, Shustar zoom light, and a Convoy C8 as a backup.
The zoom light is used to point out specific parts of the different charcoal drawings in the quarry.
The zoom function can also be used to create more drama when telling the story that is told in the drawing.
What I am looking for is a zoom light that has a warm white LED, now I have added a color filter to make the light a bit less cold. The zoom-function should be easy operated (by my thumb) and the power button needs to be on the side, so I can operate it with my thumb.
And I am looking for a more retro lamp that provides enough flood light for the group.
Batteries should be replaceable.
I’ve added some pictures of the lights and their different uses.

Well, it may not fit your control preferences, but the Convoy Z1 is generally considered to be the only budget friendly zoom flashlight worth having, and you can also pick what color temp (CCT) you want your LED to be over on the [convoylight.com](http://convoylight.com) store.
Here it is with a W5050SQ3 LED, which is a round die emitter to keep it from turning into a square when you zoom to the tightest focus level.

You can get that in a warm 3000K color temp.
For the most accurate and distinct colors though, you would probably be better off with an SFT40 3000K LED. It just won’t reach as far, and it’s a square die emitter, not a round one, so it won’t look great at maximum zoom. All other zoom levels should give you a pretty standard round beam though.
