Maybe a dumb question, but have you checked if it’s reverse threaded?

It’s a press fit, remove the driver board then use a thin blunt tool, I use an old long nose pliers. From the bottom you can see the mcpcb and that retaining plastic, push on one side and give it a few thwack.
