Usually the gold and jewels are fake, but it is worth having it looked at.
My father has a belt buckle with little jewels as rewards for his time at a company and other things. The belt buckle is really cool, but worthless. The little tab that was added and held the jewels was 24k gold with real jewels.

It’s a Gerber Sportsman. They were very popular as marketing/knife knives with all kind of company logos on them. The badges were usually worthless but some were gold with actual gems.
