I was just going through some old orders, and saw how much more affordable the 535 was for people just four years ago. Even then, people thought it was overpriced and should have been a $90 knife. That same blade has an MSRP of $200 right now…..

….I do love my butterfly tax though, and an definitely part of the problem 😅

Yep. I remember paying a little less than $40 on a spyderco tenacious in highschool, now they’re almost $70. At least the tenacious is still a good knife at that price, $200 for a bugout is fucking insane, their pricing dept smokes crack for sure.

I’d own a lot more BM models if their prices were not fucking stupid. That comes from someone that does not care about paying for knives like Rosie, Arius, Lamia, Brown etc etc. There comes a point where I have to draw a line.

I own some BMs and I loved customizing them (I have a nice bugout), but :/ they are like 50% overpriced.

Kabar Mark IIs are going for $95 now. Just a few years ago, they were under $50. Buck 110s were under $40 at Wal-Mart. Now, they’re almost $70. And they wonder why the knife industry has taken a downturn.

What is the draw for Benchmade knives? I have a few and they all seem rather unremarkable.

I always get into hobbies when their prices go through the roof
