Toxic Patina

I’ve wanted a scale to match the “contamination” theme for this knife for a while. I recently became interested in patinas on knife materials and wanted to give it a try.

I buried this brass scale in my garden for over a week as an experiment. I was curious how a mixture of water, soil, sun, and plant fertilizer might impact it. I had no idea it would come out like this. I am pretty happy with the results.

Now comes the real results of allowing the work that’s been done to mature. I’m interested to see what it looks like in a month from now.
