So I’ve been carrying around the Knipex Cobra XS daily for a few years now. Absolutely love them. Very handy to have on you. Pack one hell of a punch for being so small.

Recently got the Pliers-Wrench XS to go into my loadout. I think it’s a great tool as well. I used it for a few small repairs. And other little jobs here and there. Part of my job involves water hoses. Came across an issue while delivering a water slide to a customer. They had the end of an old hose broken off onto their spigot. I confidently say, “No problem, I can get that right off.” Pull out the pliers wrench… and the damn thing will not fit into the hose end. Sure enough, I couldn’t fix it. I was disappointed.

Compared the jaws when I got home. The Cobra opens significantly larger. And of course, has the teeth on the jaws. I already have a Ti Pocket Wrench, which has the same capacity as the Pliers-Wrench. So I think I’m going to stick to my original loadout. Cobra XS and Ti Pocket Wrench.

I carry both, I use the pliers wrench most of the time as it doesn’t mar the surface and I find once you get on a fastener it’s quicker. The cobra I use for things that are a bit to big for the pliers and when thing are stuck and I need the teeth.

  3. Cobra is mediocre edc luxury that can do anything pliers can do somewhat well. Wrench is an actual tool for dedicated tool and has spesific usage. No reason to get one as small as possible imo

Their holding capacity is probably pretty similar as your not holding anything at that angle. Two different tools for different things anyway
