What are your favourite lock types and why do you prefer them?

Here are examples of some of mine (L to R):

1) Lock back
2) Compression / reverse liner lock
3) Button lock
4) Crossbar lock
5) Liner lock
6) Frame lock

I like a liner lock because it’s simple, easily repaired, and one handed

Triad. I like old traditionals like the ones with back locks, which this is an improved version of. I enjoy most of the other lock types just fine, too. Not the hugest fan of the crossbar, but that doesn’t stop me from buying knives with them. Having said all of that, numbers-wise, slipjoints take up a good majority of my knife collection. I guess you could say I don’t discriminate. I just like knives.

Crossbar here. So many reasons and now that everyone is making them I think they will grow in popularity.

Ball bearing lock on the manix. Finger safe, easily manipulated once it breaks in, plenty strong, and less likely to randomly die on you than the crossbar lock.
