I know the general feeling for these lights is not great here, but found a decent deal on a 2.0 EDC Moonshine (randomly selected body, head and tail colors) so I figured what the hell.

However, I’ve never seen a light throw blue artifacts like this off the side.

Can anyone explain this?

No I’ve owned two one was pea green in a 70 series the other I bought at a gun place action for nearly nothing and I could not abide the beam. Appeared to have holes throughout the area around the hot spot. My husband has it in a tool bag as a backup. Lots of folks swear by them like Zebras.

The blue/purple rings probably come from refraction from the AR coating. SST40 is naturally green, and the coatings increase the proportion of its complementary color on the spectrum, and a blue coating may increase the proportion of yellow or green, just as a purple coating would.
