I am still hunting for best setup for a 4500k lumen monster with these 7x 5050 MCPCBs. I may have found a new champion (at least until I try a SFQ55 mix).

Ironically, this Mateminco MT04 originally had a SFT40 mix with 4x 5000k / 3x 3000k, which I was trying to get close to 4500k, but CCT came in way low, closer to 4000k. But after my semi failure with sliced XHP50.2 5000k to produce a good tint, I was willing to try a straight 7x SFT40 5000k setup and see how the tint and lumens compared to the XHP50 setup.

For some reason, I have never tried the SFT40 5000k in isolation, instead always mixing it with other CCTs. To my surprise, after testing with Opple, the CCT came in about 4500k on these SFT40 5000k with nothing else mixed in. That is why my mixes always came in low. This was the 4500k I wanted in the first place all along.

Secondarily, I ordered 7x TIRs from KingBrite on Alibaba, which is supposedly the TIR supplier for FireflyLite on the E07X. Ordered 10 degree, 15 degree, 25 degree, and beaded 10 degree.

15 degree worked best for these SFT40s, much better than the old stock 10 degree in terms of hotspot size and shape.

The beaded 10 degree I popped in my mod with sliced XHP50 5000k. It definitely helps smooth out the Cree green corona that was evident with the stock 25 degree optics.

The SFT40 5000k version seems to have way better tint regardless than the XHP50 version, despite similar CCT and both being a bit above BBL. SFT40 a lot more throwy and less floody despite.

Comparative whitewall shots and outdoor shots so you can see the difference. It was a bit rainy and moody outside so not the best for showing distance.
