

I have 11 years old Fluxient bike light which I have been using for mountain biking. It has 1000 advertised and 700 real measured lumens and I get almost 5 hours runtime with my 7.8Ah battery pack. It is lightweight for helmet and battery pack fits perfectly into my backpack. Pretty solid helmet light for long adventures alongside with my handlebar lights.
The only issue is narrow beam. Is it possible to make the beam at least slightly floodier? I have seen some people sanding their lenses but I’m afraid I will just ruin it permanently.

You can simulate it by applying 3M Scotch Matte tape.
