The pocket clip on the D3AA sits directly over a sharp edge on the head. Is there a better clip that sits a little higher on the body or isn’t as stiff? Is there something I can do to make that edge less sharp without damaging the light?
Thanks

You can just bend the clip up ever so slightly to reduce the tension. I do this on all my pocket knives. And if the edges are sharp, just use some fine grit sand paper to knock the edges down

no because the light is anodised, if you sand it down, you will quickly reach bare aluminum, and you might be very unhappy, because the missing color can not be put back.
suggest you stop using that clip, and either carry w no clip, or hope someone suggests one that might work better..
Lose the pants. Put light into underwear. (Down the front, not the back.)
It really is a terrible clip. I love the D3AA, but the clip is trash.
Here is someone using an [Olight clip](https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/s/VIjNYpH7a6) that looks decent.
Another workaround is to pinch-and-press the clip away from the body of the light when moving it over fabric. Hard to describe, but I can do it one-handed and it makes it easy enough. That’s what I’ve been doing to alleviate the tension.
You could use an olight clip, modify it by shaving/sanding the clip arms to fit the flashlight clip channels… I have used medium strength jb weld epoxy to temp affix clips to bodies so they don’t spin and mar the body… it is removable with some plastic tool to scrape the epoxy off, but nothing hard enough to scrape the metal…
This provides a barrier and a way to prevent spinning/shifting off the clip arms:….
If you use an olight dual direction clip, you could bend the clip elbow angle out so that it barely or doesn’t rest on the body, and only use the other direction for your pocket.
If this makes sense.
If not, feel free to ask for clarification
