When removing the pill from my Copper Pokelit to de-dome this piece popped off(small piece identical to center piece). Still safe to use? Thanks in advance all.

That’s a post to physically prevent flat top batteries from making connection, likely due to the chip on the opposite side of the driver. Continue to use a button top battery and you’ll be fine.
