    Arisaka bayonet. Japanese. WW2. Kokura arsenal marking. It’s been drastically shortened.

    You can try r/bayonets, but this might make people there cry…

    These are called ‘fighting knife conversions’. Knives were in short supply during the war, and everybody wanted one. Broken bayonets, and battlefield pickups, were commonly converted into knives.

    There’s no real way to tell when it was done, of course, but it’s an interesting example nonetheless.
