Is this small magnetic metal rod part of a Spyderco Para 3? Or a foreign object?

My knife was getting jammed up today and I looked and found this tiny magnetic metal rod jammed in the locking mechanism. Does anyone know if its part of the knife? I have no idea where it would have came from otherwise.
