A most of you already know, the Wurkkos FC11C is a fairly compact 18650 flashlight with an efficient buck driver and excellent Nichia 519A emitter. It was almost my ideal EDC light but there was a few things I wanted to improve.
First I dedomed the 519A which is very straightforward on this model. The bezel unscrews easy by hand, no heat or tools required, no adhesive to battle. Once opened the lens and reflector were carefully removed. From there it was simple to remove the dome by gently pressing on the side with a plastic trim tool until it popped off. It came of cleanly on the first try without leaving any adhesive or residue behind.
Removing the dome increased the throw a bit, but more importantly it improved the tint drastically! It’s a little warmer and so much more rosy now! Pictures don’t do it justice.
I also found the overall look of the flashlight to be kind of boring. I decided to swap the tube with a TD02 which has much more aggressive knurling. I think this improves the look, and provides more grip. Unfortunately the finish is more matte on the TD02 where the FC11 is a bit glossy so it’s not a perfect match, but I don’t mind the contrast.
Lastly, I wasn’t a fan of the original pocket clip. I prefer a deeper carry and the ability to hang it either way without having to reverse the tube. I swapped in a spare pocket clip I had on hand and it fit perfectly.
I am quite happy with this configuration and this will now become my primary EDC flashlight.
Just wanted to share this in case anyone’s on the fence about dedoming the 519A in their FC11C. It’s absolutely worth it!

Dedome seems like a great option in this one. Sounds like yours went super easy.
Small tip on cleaning residue (for others who may have some). Cut the end off a Q-Tip at an angle to create a soft poking tool for cleaning it off. Run the unit on Turbo for a few minutes. Really heat it up. Then go in with the soft tool and carefully scrape the residue off. The dome residue will come off VERY EASY when hot.
