Top left: The Gerber Controller fillet knife lock back is pretty good, easy to open and solid lockup, arrived decently sharp. Handle is OK…
Top right: The Cuda folding fillet knife is a liner lock with no easy way to open it! The nail nick is too close to the fold and it acts more like a nail breaker. You need to grab the knife tip, open it a bit and give it a good wrist whack for proper lockup. The handle is very, very comfortable!
Middle left: Vosteed Raccoon came super sharp from factory. Bigger than a 940, comes with extra omega springs too. It’s solid and feels chunkier than it should though. Mistake I made was getting the white handles… In old jean pockets for a couple of days and the ends are turning blue! LOL. Flicks open easily with any way you like
Middle right: CJRB Pyrite wharncliffe Micarta. I’m a little disappointed with this one frankly. The button lock works fine but the knife seems a little too stiff and flimsy for easy flicking. Thumb hole opening is not easy like a Spyderco and the reverse flick is too stiff and really not fun, compared to my older Pyrite with thumb studs, that works perfectly, feels perfect. Quite disappointed in this one.
Bottom right: QSP Penguin button lock Micarta. I love my penguins, have 2 D2 Micarta (that are completely beat up!) and three 154cm titanium (one is quite beat up, blade is quite rounded now LOL) so I grabbed this button lock one… I didn’t notice the flipper tab on it until I opened the box… Flipper tab works great, button lock works great but the thumb stud opening leaves a bit to be desired. I assume the lock needs a bit of tuning to be smooth as I feel I need too much pressure to flick open. Difficult to reverse flick open. Slightly disappointed it isn’t as smooth as my others but it’s fine, I guess.
Bottom left: Kizer Drop Bear 154cm, this knife left me quite shocked… It’s the right size, great ergos and quite frankly, better, smoother action than any axis lock has a right to be! Also comes with extra springs! Extremely happy with this one!
