Anyone have this Condor Mountain Pass? I’ve been looking at it pretty hard for a few months.

  1. **The specs are 7″ 1095 blade, 0.12″ spine thickness, 12.8″ OAL,** and I really love that it has a micarta handle. the size is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. really not a bad price for it either, I think. just over $100. I want a good big ole woods knife that will last forever to pass on down the line. planning on getting this one or something similar before deer season opens up the end of this month. I already have some decent skinning knives, this won’t really be used for that purpose, no belly on it. and too big for that too.

Gave my dad a fat belly Condor Tool & Knife last Christmas and it seems to be holding up very well. I believe it is also 1095 HC like this blade. I’ve really been wanting to get an actually good (ie not the Chinese schrade ones without a real tang) bigger woods Bowie style knife and this one seems like it could be pretty good. I haven’t found any reviews on it though I have heard Condor is a pretty good brand.

Anyone know how their heat treat is? I was also looking at similar styled knives in other brands that were a “better” steel like S30v etc. I just really like how this one looks with the unfinished blade look and the micarta handle.

or really I guess I am also looking for similarly sized and priced fixed blades if anyone has any good recommendations. I know the ESEEs are popular here, but I don’t know if I want to spend that much more on one. I’d rather have a natural blade and handle finish over cerakote and bright handles. though I do like the fde and green ESEE 4 I saw somewhere. the only other real fixed blade I have that isn’t garbage quality is a Mora companion. just want something bigger.
