I have been pretty underwhelmed with the dual channel lights I own. I love the package of my ramping D4SV2, but the difference between the flood and throw channels is minimized using a common TIR lens. My K9.3 improves on this a tiny bit, but has a large, bulky head. I do not own a DM1.12, but it seems like this would work great, but again, bulky head. The L1 fixes this, allowing for a “full sized” (for a 21700 light) parabolic reflector, while keeping the size right. Adding to the dual channel practicality, both channels can be used in 180 degree or 90 degree mode, and with the tailcap magnet this light becomes an uber practical tool.
All configurations of this light feature a SST-40 cool white emitter for the throw channel. For the flood channel you can get an Osram P9 or a Nichia 591A. I opted for the 519A due to its high CRI and (I assume) lower CCT.
[The L1](https://imgur.com/a/bVqvSaN) has independent buttons for each channel. 2 buttons isn’t the most intuitive thing, but I am getting the hang of it. Both emitters can be used at the sale time, but I am not sure why you would considering they are 90 degrees apart.

All-in-all, I am very pleased with the beamshot performance. The SST-40 gives great throw, for a 21700 sized light.
**Pros**
* Dual channel is great, throw surprised me.
* Strong magnet makes this a great work light.
* Standard 21700 with built in USB-C Charging.
* UI is simple, which fits this type of light.
** Very nice holster was included.
**Cons**
* No moonlight mode, but that doesn’t seem like a huge deal to me for this type of light.
* Cooler CCT than I prefer for the 519 but not bad at all. I measured 5200k and 96 CRI.
* Charging boot is a bit finicky to reinstall.
Bottom Line, this seems like the first dual channel light I will actually use. I see this light as a tool I will use and abuse.
