I was thinking about this last night when I was also looking at a sold out light. I wondered if the numbers were completely made up, or if it just means 12 items on the site were sold in the last hour.

The worst is when you search Google for a particular light and all the listings give a price and say “in stock”, but when you visit the site, the item is sold out.
